Side effects of lip enhancement

After lip enhancement, the main side effect is swelling of the lips. This may persist from 3 to 14 days. Usually an injection in the lip body produces more swelling than the border. The type of dermal filler used also determines the extent of swelling.
At times, a bruise may also result from the injections.
Occasionally, lip enhancement may cause a viral infection to appear . If this occurs, you need to notify your doctor who will prescribe an anti-viral tablet.

Post-care for lip enhancement

The swelling that occurs immediately after can be reduced with ice packs.
A lip balm can be used to prevent dry lips, and no makeup is to be used for 12 hours.
Strenuous exercises and excessive UV exposure should be avoided for at least 48 hours post treatment.
If there are any lumps felt, you can massage them twice a day until they subside.
