Cause

Jowl formation is due to the descent of the cheeks below the jaw line. This disrupts the jaw line. To correct this, a facelift can be performed to lift the cheeks back to their original position and straighten the jaw line by filler injections in the cheeks.

• Dermal fillers – They can be injected into the areas around the jowls (but not into the jowls) to hide their appearance by blending the jowls into the adjacent areas. • Laser lipolysys – It can help to remove fat from the jowls, flatten them, and reduce the appearance of double chin markedly. This is a non-surgical painless procedure and results are generally appreciable for double chin.
